“ Every time I am in Somerville, where I grew up as a young girl, I don't the opportunity to get takeout from Curry Express. It is a reminder of home, our beautiful Nepal, where there is flavor in every bite. There is an abundance of options for veg and nonveg food, and they are so timely with the service! The dai's and uncles who run this business understand that people who order are most likely to order it to go since there are only a few booths! But even if you were to dine in, the spice jars, paintings, and aromas of the restaurant bring you right back to Kathmandu Valley. Below is one of the veg lunch box options! Also the famous Nepali "chiya" is a complimentary for every guest! 100/10 ”
“ Very satisfying food and great service. I got the lamb momos (very meaty big dumplings!) and lamb korma (creamy, nutty curry). I was afraid it would be too much lamb but the flavors of each were different and delicious. The garlic naan was just how I like it: soft and thick (even the thinner parts were nicely doughy; I don't like when it's crispy and very thin). The mango lassi was perfect: not overly sweet, very mango-y. It all came with a rice plus nice little spiced rice pudding on the house! ”

The curries (chicken tikka masala, saag paneer) and lamb vindaloo were great, but not very spicy -- each of the mild, medium, hot levels were maybe one level below what I expect from usual Boston area restaurants. Unfortunately the lamb momo was kind of dry and tough. That was the only miss! ”

The saag paneer has a perfect blend of cheese and spinach. Every naan we tried is our new favorite. “ The man who was working the register was so kind and helpful and brought every dish to us steaming hot, just wonderful! He brought us our items in order and even made sure to check in and ask us how it was. It's a very cute hole in the wall type of restaurant and the flavors and food were AMAZING! I am a harsh critique about food and I feel like these dishes were very well made. -loved the chicken korma saag paneer thali OH WOW -papad snacks were so nice and crunchy tasted fresh -samosas taste home made and healthy! -LOVED THE CHICKEN HALLA NOODLES 10/10 would recommend everything again! ”

“ Not the best Indian food I've had but certainly not the worst. Ordered the chicken tikka masala, mild, with a side of naan. It was good but just a little too sweet and I think too tomato-y for my liking. The naan was good though and they gave us some free dipping sauces and a little bit of rice pudding, Yum! I have had better in Boston and I don't agree with the other reviews about this place saying it's the best Indian food they've ever had. Overall, decent. ”
“ This is our new go to Indian take out spot. The prices are reasonable and the food is so fresh it's unbelievable! Make sure you check in on Yelp so you can use their 15% coupon. If you order on their website directly you can also get $3 off. We ordered: 1.) Chicken Biriyani - 5 stars This was definitely the best dish to order here!! The rice and chicken tasted so fresh. 2.) Saag Paneer - 4 stars 3.) Green Chili Chicken - 4 stars. I was expecting a green colored curry but this one tasted more like chicken tikka masala with green chilies. I wasn't complaining. Our ordered came with raita, mini pappadam and a couple of chutneys for free! I can't wait to order from here again and maybe get the Manchurian this time. ”
